Per the WNBA, the 2021 regular season schedule was announced today, April 13. The schedule will consist of 32 games, including 16 on the road and 16 at Mohegan Sun Arena.

This summer’s schedule will also feature a month-long break between mid-July and mid-August while members of the WNBA participate in the 2021 Summer Olympics in Japan.


The Connecticut Sun will open the 2021 campaign on the road against the Atlanta Dream on Friday, May 14 at 7:30pm. Two days later on Sunday, May 16, after 551 days, the Sun will make their first Mohegan Sun Arena appearance since Game 4 of the WNBA Finals on October 8, 2019. Connecticut will welcome the Phoenix Mercury for a 7pm tip-off.

Connecticut will have two additional home games in May. On Wednesday, May 19, the Indiana Fever will come to town and on Friday, May 28, the Washington Mystics arrive. Both contests begin at 7pm. The month also includes a three-game road trip to Phoenix, Las Vegas and Seattle from May 21 to May 25. The Sun then close out May with a stop in Minnesota on May 30. The month of June will open with a three-game home stand featuring Las Vegas, New York and Seattle.

On June 1 and June 5, the Aces and Liberty will be in town for 7pm matchups. On Sunday, June 13, Sue Bird and the 2020 WNBA Champions will land in Uncasville, CT for a 2pm matinee. Connecticut will then head to the Windy City on June 17 and June 19 for back-to-back games against Chicago. The Sky will then touch down in Uncasville on Sunday, June 27 for a 2pm contest after the Sun welcomes Dallas on Tuesday, June 22.The month wraps up on June 29 with a trip to Washington, D.C.

In July, the Sun compete in four games before the 2021 Olympic break. On July 1 and July 3, Connecticut faces the Fever in Indianapolis, IN at 7pm and 1pm, respectively. On Friday, July 9, the team hosts Atlanta at 7pm and then heads to New York on Sunday, July 11 for a 2pm tip-off.

August will be a busy month for Connecticut upon return from the Olympics. Fans will enjoy a five-game home stretch at Mohegan Sun Arena that will feature two games against Minnesota, two games against Los Angeles and one against Las Vegas. On Aug. 17 and Aug. 19 the Sun will take on the Lynx, then on Aug. 24 the Aces return before a two-game stand versus the Sparks takes place on Aug. 26 and Aug. 28. Each of the five contests are slated for a 7pm tip-off.

The Sun will only hit the road twice for the month. August 15 the Sun will face the Wings in Arlington, TX and then Aug. 31 the team will return to D.C. to compete against the Mystics.

Connecticut is set to see action in five contests for the month of September. The front end will include trips to Dallas, Los Angeles and Phoenix on Sept. 7, 9 and 11. To conclude the regular season, the Sun hosts the Liberty and Dream on Sept. 15 and Sept. 19 at 7pm and 2pm, respectively.
